I am a NYS Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a Masters Degree in Clinical Social Work from New York University. I also hold a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and English from the University of Connecticut.

My Practice: I have honed my clinical skills working with many patients in long term psychotherapy by exploring and resolving issues of depression, anxiety, life transitions, relationship issues, and many other areas that affect our lives. I have a Seminar in Field Instruction (SIFI) and an Advanced Clinical Practice Certificate, both completed at NYU. I also have a one year certificate focusing on Modern Psychoanalysis obtained from the Center for Modern Psychoanalytic Studies. I have completed numerous continuing education courses to enhance my specialities. I have an Integrative Somatic Trauma Therapy Certificate and Healing Intergenerational Trauma Certificate from The Embody Lab, which has led me to include Complex-PTSD, attachment, and intergenerational trauma as areas of focus in my work. I now incorporate somatic exercises into my therapy practice alongside talk therapy. I have dedicated myself to learning more about the tools of my profession and building my skills as a therapist.

My History: I spent from 2011-2015 working as a Counselor and Advisor at LaGuardia Community College (CUNY) in the Office for Students with Disabilities. In my role at the college I gained expertise in working with adolescents and adults struggling with physical disabilities, psychological disabilities, learning disabilities, trauma, sexual identity issues, anxiety, depression,  and addiction issues. My time at the college was split between counseling students, and advising students on classes, transfer plans, and future career paths.

Before becoming a therapist, I worked in the book publishing industry as a Managing Editorial Assistant at Simon and Schuster and a Marketing Manager at St. Martin's Press.  While I do still love books and have connections to the publishing world, I felt compelled in 2008 to go back to school to become a social worker because I became passionate about social justice and working in a career where I could make a difference in peoples' lives every day.
